Born and raised in Murano, Massimiliano Gatto (nickname Macigatto) nurtures a profound and unbreakable bond with the art of glass. Breathing in the magic and heat of the furnaces since childhood, he absorbed this millennial tradition through an inevitable and fascinating proximity, experiencing the soul of his island on a daily basis. Gifted with a multifaceted mind, he successfully combined a solid university background in Computer Engineering and international studies with a rare artistic sensibility. This perfect synthesis of respect for tradition and a drive for innovation allowed him to accomplish a true revolution in the sector: the creation of the largest and most influential e-commerce platform dedicated to Murano glass of the last decade.
By combining his brilliant marketing intuitions with the shared vision of two other invaluable partners, he gave life to the Original Murano Glass OMG brand, rapidly establishing it as an undisputed international point of reference. As Co-Founder and Art Director, Massimiliano did not limit himself to dominating the new digital channels; he helped create a true temple of art on the island. Here, he founded an exclusive internal school and launched the Murano Glass Experience: immersive workshops where clients and enthusiasts can literally get their hands on the glowing glass, working side-by-side with Massimiliano to co-create unique artworks. This hands-on approach, combined with his own meticulous study of ancient Venetian techniques through masterclasses in Murano and at the prestigious Corning Museum of Glass in the United States, sparked his extraordinary creative metamorphosis to become an emerging Murano glass Master.
